St John’s Priory School pupil, Finley Tibbetts (aged 10), has won a local photography competition with his submission of three photographs on the theme of ‘wild nature.’ The competition, run by the Rotary Club of Banbury received impressive entries for the junior section. Finn’s winning photographs were: a reflection on a lake; a well camouflaged frog; and a photograph of a line of trees. Our budding young artist wants to be a Graphic Designer when he grows up and we wish him every success in applying all of his many creative skills and talents to this chosen field.

Finley’s impressive achievement follows a period of tireless work with the support of our specialist Art teacher, Mr Alex Smith, to create a portfolio of art work that has helped Finley to secure Art scholarships at two local independent senior schools. We are extremely proud of Finley’s efforts and we know that Bloxham School will continue to help him develop his artistic talents next year and beyond.

This year, 75% of our senior school placements were accompanied by scholarships in a range of subjects including: Maths, Art, Design Technology and a Headmaster’s award. In our excellent rated school, our specialist teachers work closely with our pupils to help them prepare for senior school entrance examinations, with preparations beginning in earnest from Year 3 onwards.
