School Life

Daily life at St John’s Priory School is immensely rich and varied. As well as offering a stimulating and well-resourced curriculum, a glance at our termly calendar shows the wealth of trips, visits and fixtures pupils are involved with as well as the activities on offer at lunchtime and after school.

Houses

The School has four Houses: Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Venus. Each child is assigned to a House upon entry to the school. Each house has an elected House Captain. The termly house point count at the end of each term, allows children the chance to compete for their houses and to be awarded the house cup. The school acknowledges all the efforts and achievements of children, both in and out of school. Children are given the opportunity to take on responsibility throughout the year including organising charity events. Children’s successes in all areas e.g. academic, personal, artistic, sporting etc. are celebrated in School Assemblies.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Every child is encouraged to take advantage of our extensive co-curricular enrichment programme, which runs up until 5:30pm.  Our enrichment programme allows each child to broaden their experience, strengthen their skillset and build new friendship groups.  Many clubs are included within school fees, except those requiring additional support from external specialists

The ability to speak with teachers outside of formal parent meetings is fabulous. The open door policy at school is tremendously valuable and something that most schools do not offer.

Curent Parent

There is a great range of subjects which are all taught excellently. This is possibly because they are lucky to have so many specialist teachers and a proper timetable ensuring that no subject is missed.
