Gold bubble were tasked with speaking for 5 mins on a topic of their choice. Children prepared a presentation for round 1 where all children participated. A winner was selected from each house in each year to go through to round 2.

The overall winner was Saturn, followed by 2nd – Neptune, 3rd – Jupiter and 4th – Mars.

Individual speaker from Year 5 was also awarded a prize for her overall presentation: “I feel proud and grateful that I won the individual speaker prize. I am really excited to go home and read my new book. I spoke about Harry Potter places such as Diagon Alley, The Burrow, Hogsmead and Hogwarts. I would like to thank my Dad because he helped me decide what to do and he listened to me at home.”

A Year 5 speaker from Saturn commented: “I was very happy when I found out that Saturn had won the competition and I did not expect that to happen because I thought the other Houses gave great presentations. I spoke about Enid Blyton and my favourite two series of books by her.”

The children all worked incredibly hard preparing for round 2 and took on the challenge with courage and determination.  They all spoke clearly, articulately and confidently and used an excellent range of props sensibly to enhance their presentations.
