Pre-Prep – Saplings, Nursery and Reception

At St John’s Priory School we firmly believe that during the Pre-Prep years in school children lay the foundation for their future life. We aim to give the children a rich curriculum where social skills build into mutual respect for their peers. Children enjoy a very happy start to their education. We have three groups of children in Pre-Prep. Saplings are the youngest from 2¼, Nursery takes children in the September of their third birthday and Reception is for children during the year in which they turn five years old. To strengthen the children’s learning experience, pupils in the Saplings and Nursery classes are taught in the same class area while retaining their own individual learning programmes and distinct identity.

Teaching and learning are key words in education today. We believe that we offer quality teaching that brings about effective learning outdoors in our dedicated play area and indoor learning in our beautiful old priory building. Children are taught in cheerful, bright classrooms with excellent resources and a computer for the children to use in addition to our nearby ICT suite.
